Tariq Khan Local Councillor and Parliamentary Spokesperson for Birmingham Hodge Hill ConstituencyA local man and a local choice for Hodge Hill
Tariq is a local man born and bred. He grew up in the Alum Rock area and went to local schools in the area before going onto Wolverhampton University where he attained a BA in Business Studies. Many of Tariq's close friends and family still live in the constituency. Tariq has also represented local people for over 13 years as a Birmingham City Councillor. Tariq currently works as a Senior Medical Representative for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Before being selected as Hodge Hill's parliamentry spokesperson Tariq had a long and distinguished political career. He was first elected as a local councillor in May 1994. In 2001 he joined the Liberal Democrats and since then has fought two elections in Washwood Heath against Labour and has won by sizable majorities. Tariq was also Birmingham Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader between May 2004 and May 2006. In his spare time Tariq enjoys spending time with his family, especially his son, travelling and sports. Tariq and the local team want the best deal for every resident in Hodge Hill and they will campaign all year round to achieve that goal.
